How does segment targeting work?
In Ad tech Segment can have multiple definition
- Loosely it can mean any of the combination of targeting criteria which can form one segment
- More frequently it will be used in the user and the segment they belong to for the purpose of targeting
- Algorithmic ally it would generally refer to combination of dimension (signals) based on which something is getting defined or predicted. It could the potential click on a particular request or many more
So a segment targeting is enabled by making the feature available in the platform and allowing campaign managers to choose the segments for targeting. In real time the platform needs to identify which segment a particular supply falls into and chose the best fitted creative for delivery
